YUNJEE
Yunjee stands as a cornerstone of our tattoo studio, as our recently graduated studio apprentice she is crushing her first year as a full time studio artist. She has been meticulously honing her mastery of tattooing through focus in technical skills, composition, study of different techniques and styles, and immersing herself in the rich tapestry of tattoo culture.
The heart of Yunjee's dedication to her art lies her ethos, Oori (우리). Meaning 'we' and 'our' in Korean, tattooing, for her, is an intimate craft, where the magic unfolds in the bond between artist and client. Oori Tattoo, or 'Our Tattoo', truly embodies the spirit of the design process for Yunjee because of her belief that each design is a product of the journey, effort and dedication of both her, and her clients.
Her artistic aspirations are deeply rooted in her passion for black work tattoos, influenced by the allure of gothic and graphic art. She also holds a deep respect for black and grey realism as inspired by her two mentors. Her ultimate vision is to carve out a distinctive style that is uniquely her own. In the next year she has the goal to extend beyond Seattle's borders, with plans to guest spot in various states and perhaps internationally. We are so incredibly proud of Yunjee and have no doubt she will become a force to be reckoned with in this industry.
